Brandon Lorenz Stephens is a USPTO-registered patent attorney whose practice focuses on patent drafting and prosecution for innovative companies. He prides himself on creative, highly collaborative inventor engagement—working with technical teams to fully flesh out embodiments, anticipate design-arounds, and align claim strategy with business objectives. His work spans a wide range of technologies, including AI/ML, software platforms, semiconductors, fintech/blockchain, VR and robotics, medical devices, display technologies, design patents, and applied chemistry.
Brandon has more than six years of IP experience supporting industry leaders such as IBM, Samsung, Walmart, and State Farm. He has served as a lead or contributing drafter on 40+ U.S. patent applications and as a primary or supporting prosecutor on 100+ matters. His experience includes an in-house IP Counsel role at IBM and time at Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP, where he averaged more than one patent allowance per month.
Brandon earned his J.D., magna cum laude, through Touro Law Center’s two-year Accelerated Honors Fellowship Program, graduating second in his program. He received several CALI Excellence Awards and the Outstanding Contribution to Growth of the Law Center award. He is also a mentor with Arizona State University’s J. Orin Edson Entrepreneurship + Innovation Institute (E+I).
